Paul Stein, EdD, Schools for Children Executive Director

Paul Stein, EdD, is the executive director of Schools for Children, Inc., succeeding Dr. Ted Wilson, who served as Schools for Children’s president and executive director for 30 years.

“Paul joined us at a critical strategic juncture for the Schools for Children organization. We are clearly growing and changing – welcoming new leaders, moving programs to new homes, and expanding and enriching the education and services we offer to students and their families. We continue to appreciate Paul’s fresh insights and experienced guidance as we move ahead to the future,” explained Peter Prodromou, chairman of the Board of Trustees for Schools for Children when Paul was hired.

Dr. Stein joined Schools for Children, Inc. from the Wayland Public Schools, where he served as superintendent for six years. His career includes numerous roles in administration, teaching and special education services. Prior to his work in Wayland, Paul served as deputy superintendent of Newton Public Schools, principal of Day Middle School in Newton and house administrator of Pollard Middle School in Needham. He began his career as a teacher in alternative, special education school settings, and served for a number of years as the director of Full Circle High School in Somerville.

An admirer of the schools and programs supported by Schools for Children when he began, today Paul is more committed than ever to lead an organization that is involved in such diverse areas of education.
