Winn Brook Extended Learning Program Director

 

Starts: Immediately

 

Schools for Children is seeking a Program Director for the Winn Brook Extended Learning (WBExL) Program, a before and after school program serving families of students attending the Winn Brook Elementary School in Belmont, Mass. The Program Director is responsible for overseeing all daily operations, budget, staffing, curriculum, ordering of supplies, maintenance of facilities, licensure regulations and parent communications for WBExL.The 12-month position is full time and reports to the Executive Director of Schools for Children. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and developing age-appropriate programs and activities for students.
  • Prepares budget proposals and develops budgets with the SFC Chief Financial Officer.
  • Manages staffing responsibilities, including recruiting, hiring, providing orientation, evaluating and coaching.
  • Develops and maintains staff, student and licensing records as outlined by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and in accordance with state and local guidelines.
  • Initiates and responds daily to a significant nuber of parent emails and phone calls.
  • Develops and implements program policies as well as employee and parent guidelines.
  • Maintains and updates student files and billing through the platform CampBrain.
  • Updates student information and monitors attendance, progress and achievements.
  • Responsible for all necessary documentation, including evaluations, payroll, time cards  and expenses.
  • Tracks employee attendance, including absences and tardiness.
  • Collaborates with the marketing administrator for SFC to promote the program, including updating the website, placing advertisements and providing information for social communications.
  • Collaborates with the SFC central office business staff for purchasing, accounting, benefits and payroll. 
  • Plans and implements weekly and monthly meetings with staff and administrators.
  • Maintains strong communication and collaborative relationships with the Belmont Superintendent, the Winn Brook Elementary School Principal and the Executive Director of Schools for Children.
  • Responsible for purchasing all materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Supervises clubs within the elementary program and supports all programs, making sure that they are age-appropriate and beneficial to the students.
  • Organizes and coordinates age-appropriate enrichment activities for the early release days in Belmont and other special programming.
  • Participates in activities as requested by the Belmont school administration.
  • Reflects the core values of Schools for Children in all interactions with faculty, staff and students.
  • Demonstrates respect for diversity among the staff and student body.
  • Promotes an atmosphere that values diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Participates fully as a member of the Schools for Children administrative team  (which includes the directors of the other SFC schools and programs).
  • Helps further the Schools for Children strategic plan, particularly as it relates to building before and after school programming.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Opportunity for Growth

Schools for Children is open and interested in exploring opportunities for expanding its extended learning programs. Over time, this may lead to opportunities for enhanced responsibilities (along with enhanced compensation) should the Program Director have interest in pursuing them.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience working with elementary-age children
  • Two (2) years of experience working in an administrative role
  • EEC Director certified
  • Familiarity with EEC regulations

 

Compensation

$75,000 – $80,000 depending on experience
