This year, the Lesley Ellis School auction raised over $60,000 to support the financial assistance that makes the unique program at Lesley Ellis School accessible to the widest possible range of students.
Generous local businesses and school families who share the school's commitment donated dozens of special items, which were then auctioned off to the highest bidders. Unlike many schools which have support from large endowments, Lesley Ellis has limited financial aid resources so events like the auction are critical to its mission.
Massachusets 4th graders ranked first and 8th graders tied for first on the National Assessment of Educational Progress reading exam in 2009, marking the third time in a row that the state's students outscored their peers nationwide.
