Dearborn Academy
Dearborn is one of New England's premiere psycho-therapeutic day schools serving children and adolescents with severe emotional, behavioral, and learning difficulties. It is one of the few programs in eastern Massachusetts that also meets the needs of children and adolescents who face both language-based learning issues and emotional challenges.

Lesley Ellis School
Lesley Ellis School is a nationally recognized independent elementary school (Preschool-Grade 5) offering a progressive, antibias education with ambitious goals for learning. SFC's largest program, Lesley Ellis serves 150 families.

Seaport Campus
Seaport is a small alternative high school with a unique hands-on learning program that includes opportunities for self-development through experiences at sea. Seaport specializes in supporting teens with non-verbal and social learning difficulties.

S.T.E.P.
S.T.E.P. (Short-Term Educational Placement) provides stabilization and assessment services designed for elementary, middle- and high-school students who have been temporarily excluded from their schools.

Schools for Childen has been exploring other blogs and resources that may be of interest to our readers. We hope you enjoy these resources!

In this first Round Up we offer some recommendations for blogs that cover issues related to Special Education and Learning Differences though every one of these blogs also offers perspectives, news, and information that deepen our knowledge of children's learning, whether or not it is typical or atypical.

The Special Education Law Blog offers up-to-the minute news and advice on the rights of children and families. The author, Charles Fox is an Illinoise attorney and parent of a child with special needs.

I Speak of Dreams, by Cailfornia blogger Liz Ditz is a very personal site about parenting, special needs and nonprofit management (and horses!) This blogger is a wonderful resource for links to a wide range of education controversies.

From New Englanders Richard Wanderman (CT) and David Clark (Boston), one of the best and most useful resources for parents and educators who work with special needs students is the LDResources blog site.
